Prosecutor Sergeant Marcus Hahn told Sarina Magistrates Court police were conducting roadside breath tests on the Bruce Highway at Sarina on August 25 when Donna Lee Withers refused to comply. “(Withers) immediately became argumentative with police about the cleanliness of the alcometer,” Sgt Hahn said. “Police removed the clean breath straw that was on the device and placed a new clean breath straw onto the device and applied hand sanitiser to the side of the alcometer … to alleviate any concerns that she may have in the current (COVID) climate.”
