(Courtesy City of Pine Island) PINE ISLAND — In a quick, special meeting, the Pine Island City Council approved a development deal to create a new subdivision. "That New Haven Road going (on the west side of the development) is kind of a crappy road," said Mayor Rod Steele, who gaveled in his last city council meeting Wednesday night. "It hasn’t been well maintained. This developer asked the city to develop a 10-ton blacktop road there."
