TAIPING Zoo and Night Safari is holding a contest to find the biggest angsana tree in the country. Taiping Municipal Council president Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir said there was currently one such tree, of the Pterocarpus indicus species, located at the zoo that was believed to be the biggest in Malaysia. The angsana tree at the Taiping Zoo and Night Safari is said to be the biggest in Malaysia. “The tree is 32m-tall with a 11.3m perimeter and is 4.28m in diameter, so it is considered a large tree. “We want to get validation that it is indeed so, ” he said in a statement recently.
