The construction of the new Parkland Estates subdivision, which began in the spring of 2019, on the north end of Riverdale Avenue, has seen heavy trucking from Power Dam Drive through Grant Avenue to Riverdale Avenue. This area was originally designated a non-trucking route. The traffic could be reduced if a short extension could be made to connect Power Dam directly to the new subdivision, bypassing Grant and part of Riverdale. This link, the city states, won’t be created for at least two more years or longer until all homes, as many as 80, are constructed.
