Before we begin, allow me first to acknowledge and mourn the loss of our dear comrades, the late General Secretaries of the National Union of Mineworkers, David Siphunzi and Koena Ramatlou of the South African Municipal Workers’ Union and John Dlamini, the former President of SAMWU, amongst many other comrades, friends and families whom we have lost over this past painful year.
