A Marblehead High School athlete has tested positive for COVID-19, sending teammates, coaches, trainers, and any administrator that might have come in contact with the student into quarantine.
It is the second time in as many weeks that this has happened.
The School Committee voted on Dec. 17 to allow interscholastic teams to practice together, inside, over the holiday break.
Superintendent John Buckey said, at the time, he believed allowing sports to continue over the break was a strong safety net for students in terms of mental health, and for him, that outweighed or mitigated the COVID concerns.
