Covid-19 cases in Thailand surpass the 100,000 mark


At the same time, Thailand recorded another 24 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 589. 
Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) assistant spokesperson Dr Apisamai Srirangsan said of the 2,302 new cases, 2,279 were local transmissions and 23 imported cases including three Thais who returned from Malaysia. 
She said the new fatalities involved 13 males and 11 females aged between 39 and 91 years old including eight from Bangkok, two each in Chon Buri and Pathum Than. 
Apisami also raised concern of new cluster at a construction site in Lak Si, Bangkok, where 559 construction workers have been tested positive for Covid-19. 
Local media reported that there are about 400 worker camps with about 60,000 construction workers in Bangkok.
