The country is currently dealing with the second wave of the novel coronavirus pandemic. There is a massive surge in the number of cases. And among all this, many people are opting to get the CT scans done. However, Chief of All India Medical Sciences, Dr Randeep Guleria warned people about the misuse of CT scans and how the overuse can increase one's risk of cancer at a later age.
He warned people that there is no need to get a CT scan for mild cases. One CT scan is equal to 300-400 X-ray, he added. So, getting a CT scan done when not advised only increases your risk of cancer at a later age.
