The sale of items like chicken, mutton and eggs has registered a sharp decline in Dhanbad during the second phase of the state-wide lockdown. An overall market survey indicates that chicken and egg sales are down by 80% while mutton sales is also down by more than 60% of pre lock down period figures. A host of factors including the opening of shops for limited hours from 7 am to 2 pm, lesser arrival of stock due to lockdown in different parts of the country including Uttar Pradesh and low demand from restaurants which are themselves receiving less than 10% of home delivery orders have attributed to the sales going down.
