COVID Task Force 'ecstatic' about Johnson & Johnson vaccine Bronwen Howells Walsh What a difference a week makes. Members of the Cape Cod COVID-19 Response Task Force yesterday used words like "ecstatic," "profoundly encouraging" and "remarkable," saying limited state supply of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine means they are confident in their ability to reach vulnerable populations. Sen. Julian Cyr (D-Truro) said the whole region now is pulling in one direction, focusing on homebound and vulnerable older adults who are without access to a computer or transportation. "The reality is that we only have a certain amount of supply," Cyr said. "It’s going to be 'a heavy lift' to get everybody vaccinated. Doses are not yet going to local boards of health. What has improved is the level of communication and transparency" thanks to last week's establishment of a regional vaccine consortium.
