Crash with extrication closes Route 6 in Woodbury FacebookTwitterEmail Police cruiser file photoContributed / Getty Images WOODBURY — Authorities closed a section of Route 6 near the Flanders Road intersection in Woodbury for several hours Saturday evening after a two car accident. The accident was first reported around 4:47 p.m., according to the Department of Transportation. As of 7 p.m., the road was still closed due to the crash, accordign to the agency. The Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department said the crash required extrication. Two fire crews and an ambulance were called to the scene for the motor vehicle accident at 4:34 p.m., according to dispatch reports. Firefighters at the scene said two cars sustained heavy damage in the collision, leaving one person trapped in one of the vehicles.
