Crews Gaining Ground On Leland Complex Of Timber Fires In Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests

Crews are gaining ground on the Leland Complex of timber fires burning locally in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests.  Firefighters have increased containment on the blazes over the last two days.
The Sand Mountain Fire in North Latah County outside Harvard is now 82% contained at around 1,600 acres.  Containment on the Johnson Creek Fire North of Elk River has increased to 63% at about 1,300 acres.
Resources on the fires have started to demobilize.  The blazes were sparked by lightning on July 7th.
