By: Mickhailah Engelking Editor@aransaspassprogress.com On February 21 the Aransas Pass Police Department had to announce that one of their very own passed away. “It comes with great heartache and sadness that I announce the passing of one of our very own this evening. Crystal Bath, our Telecommunications Supervisor, became ill over the past week with COVID when many of us within the department became ill from the virus. Crystal fought hard but succumbed to the illness this afternoon in the hospital and while in the company of her family.” Police Chief Eric Blanchard informed before continuing. “Crystal, better known to us as Bunny, began her public safety career around February 2006. She first worked for the Port Aransas Police Department before joining our family here in Aransas Pass. She quickly excelled at her job, becoming the Telecommunications Supervisor (TCOS). As the supervisor, Crystal quickly revamped the field training program, improved communications processes and records management, and created a family oriented atmosphere within her division. Her loss today is deeply impactful. We lost a sister, a mentor, an incredible employee, and a dear friend. Her loss will be felt for years to come, but we are confident her soul is at peace, and her struggle in this life is no more.”
