That your plan, these measures, and you also have the ability to consume the data. We have some concerns about the [inaudible] and we have to avoid an overwhelming health crisis. To seere extremely happy a plan that has been put into effect. [inaudible] with many members of the task force and industry. Good afternoon. We appreciate you taking the listen come out here and to the industry. [inaudible] look around, [inaudible] and i know that during the grand opening we will all be taking measured steps. [inaudible] handwashing. About social distancing, which i believe all salons are currently doing. That means no double booking. One inside at the time, no one in between while someones color is processing. We are removing all items that are touched. We removed candy jars. We upgraded sanitation practices. We are cleaning the stations. Receivedhe guidance we and the masks and handwashing, great. Thank you. Welcome to our salon. My husband and i own its very clean. Its much cleaner than being in my office. We take a lot of pride in our clients. Weve taken every measure so hat everyones safe. We have Hand Sanitizer and we have a supplier in orlando so that its readily available. Weve gone the extra steps to getting disposable capes. And we have masks, weve supplied masks to all of our stylists. We dont want to just keep ourselves safe. We love our clients. Those are like an extended portion of our family. Ut we watch to keep them safe. We follow san tiization guidelines. In order to keep it you want to make sure that you do exactly what you proposed to do. So we have our stylist coming in on a scattered schedule. Not just a full salon. We have a monday, wednesday, friday, tuesday, thursday, saturday. One client at a time. And once that client is done. They have to sanitize. San aniti zrks tiization. We want to make sure everyone is safe. Were professional to protect ourselves and our clients. We just want the opportunity e want to get the help that we have. And we twap opportunity to help ourselves. We want to be able to do that. Thanks for having us. Really creative. Hi, my nape is i o. Jo. Y name is ji whats important is for all the license that are professional. I really try to put all together with the guidelines for even the customer from their employer. We have guidelines for the products that weve got. What is the the, you know, the two, the cleanup all the store. And i have everything, i put in the guideline, i will give to you later. Its a little bit about so you have an idea of what is the nail alon of the customer and employee or even the community safe. So i put everything in here. And i will get a chance to show you a little bit later what are we going to do. One of once the customer walk into the door, how do you guide them . How do you service them . Before service, during the service and after the service. Everybody has their different thing to do. He owner, the manager, the workers, the technicians, for all everybody have to be a team andle we trained before we open. Open, so wes if you have for the last couple of of days retrain, make sure that everybody has to follow what the doctor or the, you know, the state. Great. And thank you so much. Our reporter was reviewing that. Yes, sir. My name is jay manual. Im a native of orlando. Thank you, mayor to be on the Economic Task force along with friends and the doctor is here. I think were speaking the same language and having the same kind of concerns. Ive been in the business for over 36 long years. We are all in this profession have been trained from day up with that weve got to be clean and make sure we take care of ourself, our family, our coworkers and our clients. One thing that i really, really enjoy about being in this profession is it has to be a gift that is birth into you to bring you into the profession first of all. And once you learn to be clean, safe and dont keep your environment safe thats very, very important. Having said that most barbers and stylists is like Second Nature to us along with all the other type of invites were getting from the professionals, it helps enhance the things weve already done. You know as well that inspectors come in the barber shops all the time. Were used to this kind o stuff. So having said that, we want to continue to govern ourselves accordingly, do the right thing, get back to work, but get back to work safe, having said that as well, we want to make sure that and i can speak for all barber shops and hair salons, get in the professional support or the finances, if you will that we need. That will be another conversation later. But we need that so we wont compromise the principles and guidelines that are put in place. Because right now, were all dealing with this financial set back if you will in this profession. Once you as the governor help empower the Business Owners in this profession with the support that they need from the government, Financial Support with the loans and grants and all these different types of things. It will help us keep things balanced because once we get back to work, were going to need the money to stay in business because were in the red. Coming so we ople have a capacity. Thank you for having me. Oh, absolutely. Thank you. In the Greater Orlando area, you heard from many of of our Business Owners here. Ive known nadine for quite a number of years. Don henry, we want to high schooling to, although i was a me. E of o years ahead o let me just say that after listening to some of the em passioned p will, eas from the Ownership Group here as par of our Economic Recovery Task force, they convinced me that they were able to open with the right sanitary measures in place. And youve heard them talk about that repeatedly here today. So i do believe that as we balance the reopening for the need for safety in our community, this is one of those areas that i believe they can do it. I have no concern about whether they can do it safely or not. And so i know thats important you is that as we reopen florida, the businesses have to have a number of Safety Measures in place. And so they have shared with me a number of things that would allow them to do it. Thank you for hearing us out here within the region, we have tried to take a regional approach as we reopen. So im one of the few elected countywide mayors in florida. But i have reached out to surrounding chairs in the surrounding counties and we were in agreement with how we move forward with the reopening and the Economic Recovery Task force that we have in place to have a regional outlook and they consistently have said that they believe that this is the right balances here as we move forward. Unguided by the positions that you see here, dr. P irks, in o, is the state Health Officer here in orange county, a phenomenal individual. He is just been wonderful to work with as we have dealt with the pandemic. And dr. Rawls ive worked with. He is the senior official with Orlando Health and youre very familiar with hip. Hes the director of Public Safety for the county. And he understands the county government as well, and so with that, they are my principle advisors and everything they said to me is that they fell that theyre the way for this to move forward and to do this safely. So, again, thank you for being here. As we look at this, when we approached our task force for the next phase for florida, my discussion with them is as we look at the economy, this idea essential vs. Nonessential is what had been done with i dont know if thats Public Health over the years that. Was the framework we were looking in and as we were going down that road, it became clear to me that that was simply ined a. If this is your business it sure as heck is essential to you. If you have a job at one of these industrys that some Government Official says its nonessential, im pret you sure you think its essential. Im not going to say this is important and thats not. What we watch to do if you have Something Like these personal services, whats the risk level and if there is a way we can lower the risk level. If you make thakes are low risk, supreme a right to apply their trade and make a living. Thats the approach weve taken. Theyve gotten into this and my task force had started to do. We werent quite ready. But this is snag were interested in. So can you just talk about from a medical perspective, you know, are there things they can do someone coming in and getting their hair done to be a low risk . Sure, thanks, governor. Absolutely. This is a good example of a well regulated industry. These are professionals that are practice sanitary apply sanitary practice. You have six feet between each chair automatically. You have awareness about client movement. They never had a schedule. We know they have had an adjustment for that. There are going to be things that are going to be different like masking. We talked about mandatory masking. Our clients need to be masked. Youll need to wear a mask. This is also maybe an environment we have some dditional cleaning and sanitization expectation. I think thats happening every day already. I want to add one other thing, governor. As you and the mayor are making these difficult policy decisions, as patrons they have an expectation. As Community Members we should be responsible. We should not come to a salon if were sick. Stay home fm youre asked to wash your hands, wash your hands fm youre asked to wear a mask, do that. Theyre asking that you protect them so we can protect this economy. I agree with the mayor on that. Now, you probably have sop clients that are chomping at the bit to get in here, id imagine . Yeah . [laughter] great. Well, good afternoon. Its great to be in orange county. I want to thank mayor demmings for reaching out about the barbers and the salons. Very important part of our economy. The discussion was great. We were trying to just do things in a way thats safe, smart, step by step. This is something my task force had been discussing. We did not role it out in phase one but that doesnt dus not mean were not intend on getting
