The low-pressure area formed above the Bay of Bengal has strengthened into a cyclonic storm, resulting in the first cyclone along the Indian coast in 2024. The cyclonic storm, Cyclone Remal, is expected to reach Bangladesh and the nearby West Bengal coast on May 26. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Remal will strengthen into a severe cyclonic storm before it makes landfall on Sunday.
