Cyclone Yaas: Cyclonic Storms Expected in Parts of India, Rainfall in Assam & Meghalaya
From the evening of May 25, most areas of Assam and Meghalaya are expected to experience heavy rainfall, with heavy falls in isolated areas, according to the weather service.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the depression over east central Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression approximately 600 km north-northwest of Port Blair, and it will deepen into a Cyclonic Storm by this morning (24th May) and further deepen into a very severe cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours.
"Depression over east central Bay of Bengal intensified into a Deep Depression and about 600 km north-northwest of Port Blair. To intensify into a Cyclonic Storm by 24th May morning and further into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm during the subsequent 24 hours," stated the weather department today in the morning.
