DA: Massachusetts man arrested in connection with home invasion, rape

A Merrimac man is facing multiple charges, including four counts of aggravated rape, in connection with a home invasion and sexual assault that happened in the town more than two weeks ago, according to Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett and Merrimac Police Chief Eric Shears
Authorities say 50-year-old William S. Raia was arrested Monday evening at his Merrimac home.Sign up for our Newsletters
In addition to the rape charges, Raia is facing charges of kidnapping, home invasion, strangulation and assault and battery causing bodily injury to an elderly person.
