DAR said a Memorandum of Agreement was signed early this month between its provincial office in Nueva Ecija and the SEC-Tarlac Extension Office (TEO). "DAR Nueva Ecija has already identified the ARBOs for the said partnership. We will assist them in securing all regulatory requirements for SEC regulation, ensure that all regulatory requirements are complete, and provide them with the logistics in the conduct of training," DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Eden Ponio said in a news release on Monday. The collaboration, the first joint activity between the two government agencies, will not only help fast-track the registration with the SEC but will also help in facilitating the conduct of training for Nueva Ecija ARBO members. Among the ARBOs expected to immediately benefit from the MOA are the Popolon United Farmers Association of Palayan City; Licabenong Gintong Butil Farmers Association; Kaakibat sa Bundok Planters Association Inc.; Hope for the Women's Association; Nagkaisang Gabay sa Bayan ng Gabaldon; Cuyapa Agri-Tubig Upland Farmer's Association; Systenableng Agrikulturs para sa Malinao na Kasapian ng Kanayunan Inc.; Villarosa Farmers Association, Zaralica Farmers Association; and Masipag Kabangkalan Farmers Association. Members of the newly formed ARBOs attended the training on the compliance of SEC reportorial and credit investment requirements after the signing. Richard Laus, TEO Director, said the SEC will establish and strengthen effective linkages with various government and non-governmental agencies, business organizations, local government units, the academe, and other stakeholders. He said it is aimed at establishing, sustaining, and strengthening SEC's presence, especially at the grassroots level, to promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth. (PNA) }
