The pandemic may have brought the theatre world to a virtual halt, but for Swords writer, playwright and director, David Gilna, it's been an ideal opportunity to harness his creative talent and produce new work. David's new short film, 'One for the Ditch' - set to hit the film circuit shortly - is a story of our times, one of hope, loss and the ultimate triumph of the human spirit, set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. David speaks to The Fingal Independent of where he got the idea for his new film, and how family can be found outside of the home.
