The youth, the minors, along with the poor, the uneducated, and the indigenous peoples - they are the so-called ‘vulnerable targets’ of communist insurgents and rebels in our country. These new recruits, most of who live in isolation in some of the most distant places in the country, are considered as “easy preys” for communists due to their poverty and lack of education. Such was the case of “Louie” (not his real name), a minor at the age of 13, who hailed from Barangay Nabong in Pinabacdao, Samar.
