According to Sheriff Mike Hensley, Kenny Gouge was in the process of being returned to jail from the Erwin Courthouse on Thursday morning when he got away. Sheriff Hensley says Gouge was handcuffed and shackled at the time of his escape and was dressed in orange clothing. According to the Erwin Tennessee Facebook Page, Gouge was captured just around midnight, Sunday morning. Previous Deputies in Unicoi County are searching for an inmate who escaped Thursday morning.
