Des Moines police investigating fatal shooting on the city's east side The Des Moines Police Department is investigating what they believe to be the third homicide of the year. Sgt. Paul Parizek, a spokesperson for the police department, said in a news release, that officers and fire department rescue personnel responded to reports of a shooting at 9:21 p.m. Friday at an apartment building on the 4000 block of Hubbell Avenue. Police say that multiple calls reported a woman having been shot and lying on the ground outside the apartment building, according to the release, and witnesses identified the suspect as a male and that he had entered the apartment building.
