used against students in ways that are not good. i appreciate what you're saying, but the down sides of this compared to maybe, you know, some of the other ideas that are out there, i would rather explore those other ideas first. >> well, i will say we're seeing a divergence -- more of a divergence in the laws of various states in recent years than i think i recall over a long period of time. and over the next few years, we're going to see by how things play out in various states some degree of data about how those differences are reflected not just in our schools but in our communities as a whole. and i think we need to pay attention to that, i think we ought to follow the data where it leads. obviously you have constitutional protections. the right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental right, but that doesn't mean that , as the
