pretty clear there are no conversations or discussions about removing mr. mueller. do you take the white house at their word? or i suppose i should say, at which word? >> i think at this point, enough has been said to threaten the mueller investigation that the republicans in the senate, particularly chairman grassley, should schedule a markup of the bills that would provide a little bit of due process before a firing of mueller could be concluded and less those bills come forward. we've had the hearings. both bills are bipartisan. they can be readily reconciled, but there's no point in reconciling them if a markup isn't scheduled. so that would be the next logical step and i think as a senate, as a congress, we should be stepping up to do the things that even speaker ryan has said we should do, which is to make sure that the mueller investigation can run its due and proper course. that's the logical next step.
