>> police say a tip three years ago led investigators to connect the dots between durst and the 1971 disappearance of the middlebury college freshman. abc's matt gutman has more. >> reporter: vermont police making years old suspicions against robert durst public. >> i don't like to use the term suspect per se. this is a person who's very interesting to us. >> reporter: 18-year-old lynne schulze who disappeared in 1971 was last seen across the street from a store durst owned in middlebury, vermont. police have been investigating him since 2012 but caution evidence is scant. >> all we can say is they were in the same approximate location at the same time frame. >> reporter: now 71 and frail, durst who is suspected of three other deaths or disappearances was denied bail. he sat here with his hands and feet shackled in an orange jump suit but this time more attentive to what the judge and the prosecutor were saying.
