Difference Makers: Queens chef group transforms into non-profit delivering food to needy New Yorkers amid pandemic

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A group of chefs and volunteers in Queens have seen the need for food skyrocket and are working hard to fill in the gaps.
The program started out small at the beginning of the pandemic, with the group just helping out the people they knew.
“We started going to the supermarket and buying food for friends and then we started delivering to them,” says Chef Omar Bravo. “And then the idea of like, ‘Why [don’t we] do something to help more people?’”
