DOH/MB The case bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH) showed 4,973 new cases which brought the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 1,184,706. The tally of COVID-19 survivors rose to 1,115,806 with the addition of 6,666 new recoveries. The case bulletin also showed 39 new deaths which brought the total to 19,983. Of the 48,917 active cases, the DOH said, 92.9 percent were mild, 2.0 percent were asymptomatic, 1.6 percent were critical, 2.1 percent were severe, and 1.40 percent were moderate. The Health department said 21 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 18 of these were recoveries. “In addition, 58 cases were deactivated after being tagged by their Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (RESUs) /City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) as being duplicates. Of these, 50 are recoveries and seven are deaths,” it said.
