DAVAO CITY, March 5 (PIA) - Health Secretary Francisco Duque III allayed fears that the AstraZeneca vaccines is not effective against the South African variant of the Covid-19 Virus. He stressed the data is not enough to conclude that the AstraZeneca vaccine has a low efficacy rate against any variant. Duque said the AstraZeneca vaccine has 100 percent efficacy rate in preventing severe to critical cases of the COVID-19 infection. “We are after a vaccine that will guarantee lesser severe and critical cases which ensure lesser hospitalization, at kung walang maoospital, walang mamamatay,” he pointed out. Duque said based on experience, those who died from the COVID-19 infection where from severe to critical cases.
