Domestic abuser banned from North Island after biting partner

For nine months he can’t contact the victim nor enter the North Island, without approval from a probation officer.
Before his arrest, Griffiths was at the end of a “stormy relationship” with his partner, Judge Jonathan Krebs said.
The pair were at home in Shannon when they began arguing. His partner left the property, but Griffiths followed in a vehicle.
Griffiths, beamed into court from jail over an audio-visual link, tried to get his partner to jump in, but she wouldn’t, so he hopped out and bit her on the ear.
Griffiths had a long history of family violence.
