Downtown Sault mural crosswalks to receive fresh coat of paint The Sault News SAULT STE. MARIE — Talented individuals in the area will further beautify the downtown area by repainting select crosswalks with artwork. According to Kayla Gugin, executive director of the Sault Downtown Development Authority, this project is run by volunteers and materials are donated from Sherwin Williams. The original repainting date was set to be on Monday, but inclement weather forced the project to be postponed. “The crosswalk murals downtown add to the unique culture of Sault Ste. Marie,” said Gugin. “It showcases the talents of local artists and volunteers and each one captures something unique about the Sault or area the mural is located.”
