Drive-by shooting in Fort Myers sends 1 to hospital Published: April 15, 2021 11:48 AM EDT Updated: April 15, 2021 6:23 PM EDT Recommended A woman was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital after a drive-by shooting in Fort Myers on Tuesday. The shooting happened near the Jones Walker apartments on Blount Street. Fort Myers police said the victim was in stable condition. The shooting took place at around 11:30 a.m. and caused a lockdown at nearby Royal Palm Exceptional School. Neighbors said they heard around six to seven shots. Jones Walker apartments have seen their share of violent crime in the past but have since undergone a makeover.
