Driver charged with murder, DUI after crash in Pleasure Ridge Park

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The driver of a vehicle that crashed early Saturday on Greenbelt Highway in Pleasure Ridge Park has been charged with murder and driving under the influence after a passenger was killed, Louisville Metro Police say.
Third Division officers responded to the crash involving a single vehicle about 1:55 a.m. Saturday at Greenbelt Highway and Lower Hunters Trace, LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said.
Preliminary reports indicate the driver was headed northbound on Greenbelt Highway before "swerving to the left, crossing through the southbound lanes and then onto the shoulder," Smiley said.
"The vehicle continued into the grassy area and went on to strike a metal stop light support," Smiley said. "During the course of the collision the passenger was ejected from the vehicle. The car then rotated clockwise into the ditch line, coming to rest atop the passenger who was pronounced deceased at the scene."
