Published March 8, 2021, 7:26 PM For the second straight year, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) postponed the implementation of its Government Internship Program (GIP). The DSWD announced the cancellation of the program for this year to ensure the the safety and protection of the youth from the continuing threat of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). “The decision to postpone the internship program was part of the DSWD’s continued adherence to the Inter-Agency Task Force Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine, particularly on setting of age restrictions for the public allowed to go out of their homes,” it said in a statement issued on Monday, March 8.
