Dumping of bodies: Namami Gange officials review status with UP, Bihar ANI | Updated: May 16, 2021 20:06 IST New Delhi [India], May 16 (ANI): National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Union Ministry of Jal Shakti officials reviewed the status and action on prevention of dumping of dead bodies in Ganga with Uttar Pradesh and Bihar governments. Pankaj Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti held a review meeting on Saturday position and action taken in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar with the officials. Kumar ordered expeditious action and also underscored the need to give equal attention to such incidents in urban as well as rural areas along Ganga and other rivers. Stopping of dumping of dead bodies as well as their safe disposal and protection of water quality has to be attended to on war footing. He said that after knowing the progress from states, CWC, CPCB and State Pollution Control Boards would also be giving their feedback and action plans.
