300 million tons of plastic are produced every year, half of which is single use. While reducing use seems like a daunting task, experts say it's a group effort to make a difference. "When it comes to plastic pollution, there's no question that it's a global problem of a massive scale. I mean we really have a tsunami of plastic flooding into our environment. And it can feel overwhelming for an individual to get started and it does feel like drops in the bucket, but that old adage, 'think global, act local,' I think really is true," said Sandra Ann Harris, author of "Say Goodbye to Plastic."
