Noida: Already reeling under severe dust pollution due to the construction of the dedicated freight corridor, around 2,000 families living in multiple highrises along the 130-metre road near the Surajpur industrial area have alleged that the construction activity does not conform to the norms of the National Green Tribunal.
While the state-run Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) had earlier claimed that their work would be complete by March 2021, the pandemic has thrown the progress of work off gear.
Some of the apartment buildings in the area are Shivalik Homes, Design Arc, Migsun Green Mansion, La Galaxia, Venetia Height and Paramount Golf Foreste, and their residents have now complained to the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) against DFCCIL for violating the tribunal’s construction norms.
