Created: June 28, 2021 10:53 PM ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — After yet another deadly shooting episode in Rochester, community groups admitted they have a tough job reaching people to bring an end to the violence. On Monday night, advocates, police and those who’ve suffered came together for a “Stop the Violence Mission Community Conversation” at the Flint Street R-Center to seek input and answers. "It's still hurting me. It's inside of my heart. And I miss her,” exclaimed Twanna "Nikki" Broadnax of Rochester, whose cousin, Genuine Ridgeway, was shot and killed, in her car, with her two children, on June 18. The urgency became more acute after the latest shooting Monday morning that killed one person and wounded three more outside the Hudson Avenue Walmart.
