East Wake Academy claims first title, downs Mountain Island Charter in 1A volleyball final

Cary, N.C. — The East Wake Academy volleyball team went where no Eagles team had ever gone before, and they've got some new hardware to show for it.
EWA claimed the school's first N.C. High School Athletic Association championship in any sport with a 3-1 (25-15, 25-15, 21-25, 25-23) win over Mountain Island Charter in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1A volleyball championship match on Saturday at Cary's Green Level High School.
