The Indian cabinet has approved the third phase of the eCourts Project, which aims to improve access to justice using technology. With a financial outlay of Rs 7,210 crore over four years, the project will digitize court records, implement e-filing and e-payment systems, and introduce intelligent smart systems for decision-making. The objective is to create a unified technology platform that provides a seamless interface for the judiciary, litigants, and other stakeholders. The project also aims to bridge the digital divide by allowing citizens to access judicial services from eSewa Kendras.
