The Eurasian Economic Commission has send the Draft Agreement on Common Gas Market to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), TASS informs.
The document was sent to the country members of the Union – Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, they were proposed to accelerate interstate coordination of the draft agreement as this subject would be brought out at the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. It is planned to ratify the agreement next year and to launch common gas market starting from 2025.
Turkmenistan is not a member of the Eurasian Economic Union but develops close economic cooperation in gas trade. In particular, Russia, which buys Turkmen natural gas, is an important partner of Ashgabat in gas sphere. Previously, Russian mass media informed that Gazprom plans to increase the volumes of gas procured from Central Asian countries including from Turkmenistan/ the experts think that formation of common gas market in the EEU will promote the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the countries of the European Economic Union in fuel and energy sphere.
