Environment Canterbury rangers to fine, name and shame regional park dumpers

Ninety-eight vehicles were also dumped in the parks during this period, which cost about $40,000 to remove. Only 15 of them were taken care of by an insurance company or owner.
ECan parks and forests team leader James Page said park rangers now had warrants to issue infringement notices and fines to anyone caught dumping rubbish.

Alleged offenders would have 28 days to pay the infringement notice, and once it was paid the notice would be published on ECan’s website for 12 months.
