Another remote sensing satellite player has announced plans to launch a constellation in Low-Earth Orbit (LEO). EOS Data Analytics (EOSDA) aims to launch seven optical EOS SAT satellites into LEO by 2024, the company announced Wednesday. The company is targeting the agricultural sector and aims to establish a full satellite data production vertical, from direct imagery collection to processing, analysis, and delivery. One of its key objectives will be the monitoring of farmlands, which EOSDA believes makes this constellation a first of a kind to be oriented toward agriculture. With these new satellites, EOSDA believes it will increase the accessibility and accuracy of its satellite monitoring features. It aims to help address challenges such as climate change, land degradation, environmental threats etc.
