QUESTION: When my hairdresser retired, he referred me to another hairdresser in the same salon. She and I hit it off immediately and I really enjoy my weekly appointments. But she cannot cut my hair properly. I've given her several opportunities and have offered suggestions. During COVID, it didn't really matter, but I'm coming out of the cocoon soon and I want to look my best. Is there a tactful way to break up with one's hairdresser? Ideally without hurting her feelings?
CALLIE’S ANSWER: I know some people who have a colorist and a different person for cut. I think you can start trying new people. But as far as etiquette goes, I’m sure hairdressers understand. It’s part of their business.
