Severe weather has closed the main trunk railway line out of Timaru for a second time in a month, this time to the south. Mark Heissenbuttel, general manager South Island operations for KiwiRail, said that the latest washout was caused by the high seas and has affected around 165 metres of track around the Scarborough and Normanby area.
