A rapid increase in cases of Covid-19 in the Limerick region is linked to social gatherings and house parties over the past two weeks.
That's according to the Department of Public Health Mid-West, which says the trend is 'very worrying'.
It says 137 cases have been recorded in five days - the highest level of infection in over two months.
Dr Martin Daly, a former president of the Irish Medical Organisation, says new restrictions may be needed for Limerick.

Meanwhile a Limerick consultant says there is clinical risk attached to the manner in which they have to treat patients at the moment.
