Francois explains that the song is about “trying to be better in a time of disorienting change ”. B Begin Van Die Einde was inspired in part by Yuval Noah Harari's book, '21 Lessons for the 21st Century'. Francois read this book in December 2019 and started worrying about the time we’re living in. He wrote the lyrics for the song in February 2020 and, not long after, COVID-19 knocked on our doors.
