Fairfield to join regional committee on homeless response FAIRFIELD — The City Council agreed Tuesday to participate with Vacaville and Suisun City in a Homeless Two-by-Two Subcommittee to take a regional approach to homeless response. Vice Mayor Rick Vaccaro and Councilwoman Doriss Panduro were appointed to the committee for one year. Councilwoman Catherine Moy also said she would participate. This slideshow requires JavaScript. The staff report to the council states there is no financial impact to the city. “No city can do this by itself. We need our neighbors,” Vaccaro said. The subcommittee is viewed as part of the city’s comprehensive homeless strategy “to reduce homelessness based on nationwide proven outcomes, including supporting a regional response that more efficiently utilizes existing resources.”
