FALMOUTH — Residents know well the traffic congestion and parking chaos that can occur on Main Street on busy summer days, when trucks pull up to drop off inventory, visitors struggle to parallel park and bicyclists dare to make their way down the street. But the downtown area could get a makeover to improve that experience. The Falmouth Transportation Management Committee has presented its 2021 report to the Falmouth Select Board on problems that exist downtown, along with changes that could be made to address those problems. Fewer vehicles Topping the list is fewer vehicles traveling Main Street. In a survey the committee is currently conducting, many respondents have said that downtown does not need more parking but fewer vehicles, said Alison Leschen, a member of the committee who presented the report to the Select Board Monday.
