The Select Board approved the ban Monday night. “With the water shortage and the drought that we’ve been having, we haven’t been getting a lot of rain recharge,” Director of Public Works Peter McConarty told the Select Board, which approved the ban Monday. “We’re trying to work with the public and the landscapers and the contractors to keep this going. Everybody has to pull on the same side of the rope so we’re all going in the same direction with this.” Under the approved policy, odd-numbered houses will be allowed to water lawns on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Even-numbered houses can water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. All residents would need to avoid watering on Mondays.
