Family pets killed in fire that heavily damages Gurnee house

The two residents inside were able to exit the burning house without injury, but two of the family’s cats were killed and a dog was missing, Battalion Chief James Pellitteri said. Firefighters were able to save one of the family’s dogs, he said.
